Scottish soprano, stage director, and producer Charlotte McKechnie performs and curates a wide variety of operas throughout the United States and Europe. Originally from Glasgow, Scotland, Charlotte has performed frequently for the BBC, with weekly live recordings with Radio 2 and Radio 4 in theatre and studios, and periodic appearances on BBC1.
She has worked in directing and producing capacities with the Boston Early Music Festival, Boston New Music Festival, Juventas New Music, OperaHub, and Lowell House Opera. Upcoming operatic roles include Edonide (Alcide al Bivio) with Harvard Early Music Society; Gherdino (Gianni Schicchi) and Sister Osmina (Suor Angelica) with Berlin Opera Academy; and performing in Songfest’s Young Artist Program in Los Angeles, CA. Charlotte graduated from Harvard University in 2015 with a B.A. (hons) in History and Literature. She studies with Sally Burgess of the Royal College of Music. |
Maxwell Phillips is a composer and conductor from Storrs, Connecticut. His compositions have been performed and recorded by among others Richard Haynes, the Chiara Quartet and the Juventas Ensemble, and won him recognition such as Harvard’s John Green Prize. Max’s work as a conductor includes recent productions of Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel and Handel’s Acis and Galatea, as well as serving as assistant conductor to the Harvard Radcliffe Orchestra. Max recently finished a B.A. in Music and German Literature at Harvard University, where he studied composition with Chaya Czernowin and conducting with Federico Cortese. Before coming to Harvard, Max studied double bass with Eugene Levinson at the Juilliard School, where he served as an assistant principal bassist of the Juilliard Orchestra. |
